Understand your surgery, before deciding
How we work together, what to realistically expect and what the terms you will hear mean. Information to decide calmly.
How we work together
You bring your goals and history; the surgeon brings the indication, the technique and the safety limits.
If a request compromises safety or proportion, you are told why and an alternative is proposed.
Every anatomy is different. No result identical to someone else’s or to a photograph is promised.
You can take the time you need. The evaluation does not commit you to a decision.
What a surgery does and does not do
Understanding the scope protects your decision and your satisfaction with the result.
- A well-indicated surgery can improve proportion, physical comfort and confidence in your body.
- The result settles over months: swelling and scars change with time.
- Almost everyone has some natural asymmetry, and surgery reduces differences, it does not eliminate them completely.
- Weight changes, pregnancies and time continue to act after surgery.
- Some surgeries need touch-ups or more than one stage, and this is discussed from the start.
- No surgery changes your life or your relationships: it improves a specific area of your body.
What we ask of you
- Tell us your history with complete honesty: illnesses, previous surgeries, allergies, medications and supplements.
- Keep a stable weight before surgery.
- If you smoke or use nicotine, stop for as long as you are told [CONFIRMAR].
- Come with a trusted person and organize your rest before the date.
- Follow the written instructions and attend all your check-ups.
- Tell us what you expect in your own words: it is more useful than a photograph of someone else.
What we do not do
- We do not guarantee results.
- We do not operate with another person’s photograph as the goal.
- We do not operate in a hurry, under urgency or commercial pressure.
- We do not publish patient images without specific consent, image by image.
- We do not combine procedures when it compromises your safety, even if you ask.
The terms, made clear
We use the same terms throughout the site. If you find one you do not know, its meaning is here.
- Breast region / bust
- “Breast region” is the technical term; “bust” is the everyday one. This site uses both with the same meaning.
- Informed consent
- A written document in which the risks, alternatives and limits of your surgery are explained. You sign it only after resolving your questions.
- Mastopexy
- Lift and repositioning of the breast and nipple. It can be done with or without an implant.
- Capsular contracture
- Hardening of the tissue capsule the body forms around an implant.
- Liposuction / liposculpture
- Liposuction removes fat; liposculpture plans which areas and how much fat to shape the contour.
- Fat transfer
- Use of your own fat, obtained by liposuction, to add volume elsewhere. Part of it is reabsorbed.
- Rectus diastasis
- Separation of the abdominal muscles, common after pregnancy. It can be repaired during abdominoplasty.
- Seroma / hematoma
- Fluid collection (seroma) or blood collection (hematoma) under the skin after surgery.
- Compression garment
- Garment worn after surgery to control swelling and support the new contour.
- Blepharoplasty
- Eyelid surgery that removes excess skin or fat.
